#emdr #traumatherapyWhat story brought you to EMDR therapy?
- I came to the sessions with a request about work and my relationship with money. Work became less, earnings decreased, which increased anxiety, plus I was also grappling with not knowing what I want to do next or in which field to develop. In general, there was a lot of anxiety, sadness, anger, and uncertainty!
How did you feel during the therapy?
- I was very interested in getting to know the method of work and experiencing firsthand how it is structured and works. We quickly moved with Ksenia from the surface level of "anxiety about money" to a deeper level, where I formulated my difficulty as a belief that I am not worthy of more and should be content with little. In the first meeting, we spent a considerable amount of time discussing the request, the context of my life, building supports that would later help delve into this story. Ksenia carefully accompanied the process, explained what was being done and why, we discussed and practiced various tools for calming the nervous system that help return to a resourceful state. During the work, we began to integrate a new belief into life – that I can enjoy the process of living.
What changes do you feel after therapy?
- Immediately after the meetings, I felt that I needed to rest well and be in peace, because something important had happened! Already after the first meeting, my anxiety about money began to appear significantly less, and when it did appear – I would start doing the practices we discussed with Ksenia. They allowed me to return to a stable state more quickly. A month after the meetings ended, I notice that there is more enjoyment and ease in my life, trust in life and reliance on myself – inside, it seems the switch between "I am not worthy" and "I can enjoy" has truly been flipped!
